We need as many people as possible to sign this petition, to show our State MPs that people in NSW want them to Confront the Crisis.

Will you add your name now?

NSW is in the midst of a housing crisis.

With interest rates and rental prices rising, more people are struggling to keep a roof over their heads.

Vacancy rates have plummeted across the State – in many areas, rental housing is neither affordable nor available.

There are 57,930 families and individuals on the social housing waitlist.

The housing market is broken, with supply falling well short of housing demand.

And the people on low to moderate incomes are most affected by these changes.

They are pensioners, young people, people with a disability, women and children, and people who have fallen ill.

They are also the workers that keep our communities running – teachers, nurses, cleaners and many more.

That’s why we’re calling on each and every State MP, each and every party, to Confront the Crisis.

We want all parties to commit to real, long-term investment in community housing.

Dear elected representatives of the NSW State Parliament,
NSW is in the midst of a housing crisis.
There are 57,750 families on the social housing waitlist in NSW.
Many are waiting for 10 years or more for a home.
And we know this is likely to get worse. Rent prices are skyrocketing, interest rates are rising, and the cost-of-living continues to soar.
The housing market is broken, with supply falling well short of housing demand.
Social housing and affordable housing in NSW has been chronically underfunded for decades – but you have a chance to fix this.
We’re calling on you to make a real and long-term commitment to invest in community housing. This is a form of social housing that is delivered by not-for-profit, community housing providers, that would get people off the waiting list, and into long-term, secure homes.
We call on you to confront the crisis.
